Getting Started with Instagram as a Real Estate Agent

New to Instagram as a Real Estate Agent? Don’t worry, we have you covered! In this article we’ll give you three basic tips to get you started. Of course, there’s so much more to Instagram that coul never be fit onto one article but if you want to know more, you can always schedule a free demo here with one of our Instagram Experts.

1. Switch to a Business Profile

If you’re a real estate agent on Instagram, a Business Account is a must. A business account on Instagram adds several new features to your Instagram page. One of the options being multiple contact buttons: Call/Text, Directions and Email. When you add your phone number to your business profile, you can choose between two different call to actions: call, or text. The second button will be the Email button which opens the default Mail app on people’s phone so they can quickly send you an email. Lastly you have the Directions button which you can set to your preferred location. Clicking the Directions button will automatically open the Apple Maps/Google Maps app on your phone.

Apart from adding these three contact buttons, switching to a business profile has other many benefits. Once you’re switched over to a business profile you unlock analytics features. This shows you information such as your follower demographics, the analytics on your post, what the best time is for you to post, analytics on all your Instagram Stories and it also lets you boost your Instagram posts for a fee.

2. Always use hashtags

Never forget to add these hashtags to your Instagram posts. Hashtags are a VERY important part of your page. We recommend you save a default set of hashtags in the Notes app on your phone. That way it’s easy accessible and you’ll never lose them. We suggest posting the hashtags in the comment section.

Once in your notes, they are easily accessible and all you have to do is copy and paste it in the comment section to unlock some secret engagement! Keep in mind that Instagram has a limit of 30 hashtags that you can use with your posts. If you go over this limit you’ll get an error from the app.

4. Be consistent with your posting

To get the most out of your Instagram page, it is important to stay consistent with your posting. We recommend real estate agents to post at least once every day. You can always post multiple times a day, but we recommend you publish them at different times. Staying consistent with your posting will not only give people a reason to follow you, but it will also keep your followers engaged.
